Meet Our Doctors: Laura Fosbender, DVM

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Laura Fosbender to the staff of Marina Pet Hospital. Originally from Chicago, she earned a BA cum laude in History from Carleton College in 1993. A semester abroad program in St.
Petersburg, Russia allowed her to experience life in the twilight era of the Soviet Union and learn a little Russian in the process.

Dr. Fosbender spent several years working for the University of California in the Bay Area before deciding to pursue vet school (and a bit of adventure) at Massey University in New Zealand. She completed externships at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura, California and Dove Lewis Emergency Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Fosbender has a special interest in dermatology, internal medicine and emergency medicine. Some of her favorite patients are pocket pets like rabbits, rats and guinea pigs. She is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Information Network, the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association and the Lesbian and Gay Veterinary Medical Association.

When she's not at Marina Pet Hospital, Dr. Fosbender spends time traveling, honing her sudoku skills and continuing on her quest to find the best fish and chips in the Bay Area. She recently adopted two delightful dog-like cats, Emily and Mondo.
